whippet 99 2,613
Take three/four pheasants, skin them ,chop legs off and the head (leaving plenty of neck) , I use cocks as theres more meat on the breast...........slice the breast off and some bits off the legs..... (the left overs you can portion up or feed whole to the dogs, I take the crop out ,........wont hurt the dogs anyway) get some olive oil in the pan / plate and let it get nice and hot,......dice your pheasant meat and place in too the pan / plate and let it golden off nicely , stirring it about as you go ,........should take about five mins...... take half a swede and chop up into nice small pieces , take your oven dish and place chopped swede in the bottom ( I put mine in slow cooker) take a couple of parsnips and chopped these up the same as the swede and add too the oven dish/slow cooker.... add a couple of hand fulls of garden peas and add with the other vegetables in the pot....... I also add a bit of stewing stake to the pot aswell .....for added flavor .... put four clovers of brockley in , whole..(as these will break up as it cooks.......) take your browned off diced pheasant and add too the pot,........ pour boiling water into the pot over the meat and veg until its over the top by about an inch ,...... put a chicken stock cube in ..(crumble over the top)..... add some chicken gravy granuels ,........couple of tea spoons then pour in some double cream too your desire ,...... add pepper and good pinch of salt and let simmer away ............. ideal too put in slower cooker too come back too after a day in the field.....or leave in the oven for a few hours....... all the best..... 3/4 pheasants teaspoon olive oil 1/2 a swede 2 parsnips 2 handfuls of garden peas stewing steak (not a must , but I do) 4 clovers of brockley 1 chicken stock chicken gravy granules double cream
