Barry Hollands 32 Counties Raceday Sunday 29^th December 13

 

The rain was pouring down and the wind was icy cold as we arrived at Artigarvan for the 32 Counties Champion of Champions 13 race day Sunday 29^th December 13. But the weather and the cold could not get in the way of a great days enjoyment and fresh air, after all the food and beverages of Christmas. There was a medium sized crowd of Canine men and women with their winning Whippets and Lurchers. The racing started at approximately 1.30pm.

 

There were some great and worthy winners on this race day. John Humphries won the unders and overs with his beautiful dogs China and Rebel. This was a lovely end to a brilliant year for John and his winning dogs. Charlene Rafferty won the Whippets with her Whippet Lush. It was great to see the smile on Charlenes face when Lush passed the winning post. Jed Donagh went home to Drogheda with an armful of trophies, as did Stephen Dummigan and Mickey Quinn. What a showing and racing year these three men have had with their prized Canine friends. Congratulations to all the winners of the 32 Counties race day.

 

And finally, a big thank you to Barry Holland , Barrys two daughters, Joe Boggs, and the NILRC for a great days racing in adverse weather conditions. Barrys mother Mrs Holland was there on site, keeping us all warm with her hot soup, tea and coffee. This we were truly thankful for. A great days racing was had by all, and I look forward to more of the same in 2014.
