THE STIFFMEISTER 18,265 Posted December 23, 2013 Report Share Posted December 23, 2013 My misses mam has two boxers, classic overweight house dogs but the older one of the pair has developed a baboon like bum, it's not solid or hard in anyway, I'm thinking infected anal glands, any other thoughts on what it could be?? MoChara 1,632 Posted December 23, 2013 Report Share Posted December 23, 2013 Could be anal glands needing expressed BUT could be rectal diverticulum which is way more serious, my mums dog had to be pts because of it as he was too old to survive the op for it. I hope it turns out to be a gland problem for the boxer as the other is not pleasant. Check if dog is straining to go toilet and escalates into yapping in pain trying to go. Try vets asap.
