chops38 0
New member, so firstly 'Hello all' I've got an idea, not sure how realistic it is, but here goes.... I'm from Victoria, Australia. I've been hunting for approximately 20 years. Started on Ducks and Rabbits and have moved into Deer stalking (Sambar Deer) over the past 3 years. I have a Springer Spaniel and she goes everywhere with me during duck season down here. I'm going to be visiting the UK in June/July 2014 with my family and would love an opportunity to try hunting in another country, however I wouldn't have the faintest idea of where to start. I'm also not sure as to what (if any) game would be able to be hunted during this time of year? I know I could go via the Game Lodge approach, however I don't feel this would truly give me the opportunity to see what hunting is really like in the UK. (I don't know, maybe the Game Lodge is the only option I have?) What I'm after is the opportunity to 'tag along' with someone experienced over there and I'd love to return the favor if that person was visiting Victoria over the coming years. I could take you out duck hunting for a weekend (March - June) or Sambar Hunting in the Victorian High Country (best time is May-Sept, although there is a year round open season it's just too hot and too many snakes outside of this time). I'm fine with travelling around to various parts of the UK as required. Cheers
