dog got bad knock

well lads out the other night nite slip on a fox dog got a knock on it back leg got him to the vet she stich it and covered it i put a mussel on him but the c**t managed to pull it off and rip out the stiches.got him back to the vet and she said to leave it will be fine just keep it clean.it in a bad spot what do ye think.cheers sounder

Often looks a lot worse than it is sounder,kept clean and given a bit of time i think looking at your pics it will heal well mate :thumbs: i dunno what your spraying on it but i can recomend cut-heal as i heals from the inside........its good stuff.

well lads he putting it down today but still wants to hold it up its still well bruised he cut it jumping a limestone wall caught it on the way down but hard to see on the lamp in time it might come right but have a bitch that got a same knock same place and she pulling it ever since still fast enough for a fox. sounder

try to get your hands on cut and heal dab on its very good for that type of cut best of luck with it

Id put the dog on a good firm course of clavamox as a preventative. if not clavamox some other antibiotic of a mid grade potentcy. Better to spend the money in prevention now aas opposed paying for it later. Id also definately up the dogs allowance of protein. Its going to take a lot of protein to heal a cut like that , thats alot of mending to be done in those pics for sure. .... one other thing are you going to use just the stitches visible or is there a nexaband hexaband type adhesive in there as well? if using an adhesive remember to leave the lowest spot and the deepest gashes open , as they are usually a natural drainage point.
