Good Day

Recommended Posts

Well yesterday morning me and a pal decided to have a mooch out with the the dogs ferret and hand full of nets, wasn't much about but the terrier found a rabbit tucked up tight in some thick cover and flushed him out, however the lurchers were on the other side of the cover.

Anyway they soon found its scent and tracked it back to its warren giving a strong mark so in goes the ferret.

Within a few mins of silence I found the ferret at 2ft with the locater hand down the hole out comes the rabbit with the ferret attached this was also the first time out for this particular ferret and also the first time my terrier has worked with the ferrets.

Decided later that night to have a quick hour out with the lamp so bout half 10 decided to pick my pal up and off we went just local to use few mins drive from my house.

This particular land doesn't hold many rabbits and most night you don't see a thing but still I wanted to go out but didn't want to drive far so parked the van up and onto the first field which we saw a few bunnys at the far end of the field beside the hedge, straight away I thought we might get one or two.

Anyway by the time we got to the van we had 6 rabbits 1 for my mate's dog and 5 for mine which only missed one so all good, however my pals dog wasn't its self and missed a few which normaly would have had nearly everything it ran, it's confusing when a dog doesn't run as it normaly does but there not machines and iv hunted with this dog and seen what he is all about and I rate him highly, so all in all even tho we never had great numbers it was a good day hinting with the small pack off dogs the a couple rabbits on the night which the rabbits are going in a nice pie mmmmm
