Britishbull24 131
Iv got a good few Roe to Cull and was wondering what's the best thing to use to get them using one spot. I saw the pipe feeders on another thread. But what mix would be best to use in them. Or would a couple of salt licks be a better idea? Any advice appriciated. Quote Link to post
Squirrel_Basher 17,102
'.Dont overdo the aniseed mate. Maize ,wheat and a touch of aniseed in one of Martins pipe feeders but lash it tight as they will knock it about.Molasses on the ground works too Quote Link to post

Caprelous 217
Molasses mixed with corn works well brings them for miles to the spot. Why not plant some sweet smelling floribunda roses in a large container surrounded by chicken wire cage as the flowers and shoots protrude through the wire its a constant source of food, that also brings them from miles away. Supplementary food such as wild brambles planted in the area and wild raspberries work as well along with ivy if you provide a sustainable food source that they like and they do then you create whats called a coffee meeting house were they all come to. P.S I would only use this method of deer control if normal control methods cannot be achieved as you would soon shoot out a piece of ground as its considered as unsporting its a method used to reduce numbers. Pipe feeders filled with corn/maize mixed with molasses and sheep nuts are also another supplement they crave. Also roofed sheep feeder troughs /ricks with silage and molasses and salt licks ground up to create a cake/sandwich also work well. Hope this helps Stu Quote Link to post
