Steel Shot With Winchester 1200?

Recommended Posts

I may of got an invite to try wildfowling but not sure my Winchester 1200 can use steel shot?

I guess if I'm unsure I could used bismuth but steel shot would be the cheaper option. Also only have a modified choke (1/2) and a 1/4 choke would that be suitable for wildfowling?

To use high performance steel it must be proofed with the fleur de lys symbol, dont use bismouth it is shite mate, tungsten matrix or heavy shot is the best, expensive, yes, effective? Very, just buy a box of ten which wont break the bank, and pick your shots, if you hit em with either they will come down, I would not bother with steel unless you can use high performance stuff, you will wound more than you kill, trust me on the tungsten///heavy shot, and I hope you enjoy your first trip.
