simonrocco 175
hello there i was talking with a friend of mine tonight about what age people start training a terrier pup to go to ground and it got me thinking how people train there terriers. i personally try them about 9-10 month old running them through empty sets with an experianced dog i always let the experianced dog in first just to make sure theres nothing at home before letting the pup follow the experianced dog through the set. im just curious to know how people train their terriers and what things people do differently to others. atb Quote Link to post
rob284 1,682
You cant train em. Imo running them through empty earths is bad practice. Training them to run empties wont help em run a holding earth. Everyone has there own ways though. I dont like a dog to run an unoccupied earth. Rather it not scent the place. Just my opinion though Quote Link to post

Buda bulls 1
Some good feedback there! I agree with both comments it's all in the breeding and I don't agree on runthroughs at emptys. Patience is a virtue they say! Quote Link to post
