Bunny Blitz

Recommended Posts

Went out for a morning hunt on my own yesterday. I got a call from a local property owner the night before telling me that the rabbits were back and in big numbers. I said no worries I will come up in the morning and suss out the situation. I called the property owner next door and told him I was coming up and asked if it was ok to go onto his place as well while I was there, sure he said no worries anytime.

I got left home at 7 and was out in the paddocks at 7.30. I sat over 2 large warrens that had been cleared of blackberries the previous week so sniping the rabbits was a lot easier than usual. I stayed there for 3 hours and managed to shoot 20 rabbits with another 5 or 6 that managed to kick down their holes after been hit. Not a bad effort for my first bunny busting session of the spring. Lots of kittens starting to get out and about so there will be plenty more trips to this property in the coming months,

This was the first rabbit I shot for the morning. A nice plump doe. Rifle is a CZ .22LR 452 Standard.
