We normally do well at this venue but you've got to do your homework and know the tides So there we are bags unpacked, rods out, quick flick through the tidetable and off we go. The first mark is a deep drop off and you never quite know what's going to pull your string . it started quietly but as the tide grew the fish came onto feed and we managed to winkle out some small pollock and my mate had a beautiful Cuckoo wrass Well after that pleasant start my mate brings out the 'Big Rod' as he likes to call it "Its all in the presentation" i keep telling him as he launches it towards the horizon.......i could see 'the big rod' twitch a couple of times but my mate is one of those who likes to play it dead cool ......"not yet mate" he replied and he must have left it out for a good couple of hours ......id wandered off to look at some seals nearby and take in a bit of the local scenery and you never guess what was laid out on the beach when i got back Now he's a right poser is my mate and he insisted on some action shots so he could send them off to 'Sea Anglers Weekly' So with the camera work done and all the tackle safetly stowed away we had an afternoons filleting and some quality fish and chips for tea On trips like these it really is 'all about the presentation' 2 Quote Link to post

Im normally a freshwater dry fly kind of chap so when it comes to the salty stuff im guided by my mate...........has his pic in Sea Angler every week he tells me .........At least with the salty stuff there are no stuffy regulations to follow eh ....a chap can pretty much fish how he likes right Quote Link to post
