VERY PLEASED WITH THE RESULT I STARTED MAKING MY OWN FOX SNARES AND WHEN I LANDED A NEW PIECE OF LAND TO DO SOME RABBITING THE FARMER SAID HE HAD BEEN LOOSING SOME CHIKENS TO A FOX I SET 3 SNARES THATS ALL WENT BACK THE NEXT MORNING AND FOUND THIS

Be very careful when setting snares that close to a fence, if you happen to catch a wrong 'un and someone see's it the smelly stuff will hit the fan. It has been known for the trapped what ever to jump the fence and hang itself. Non locking snare are use to allow non targeted species to be released unharmed. Otherwise well done you.

i think the new laws on fox snares say you cant snare where a fox can get tangled up eg' a fence

i think you will find there is no legal obligation that requires you to not snare a fence for the capture of foxes as of yet

thanks for the replys i have a few more snares out to check later i will keep you informed, went to the farm last night and saw 4 foxes in one field didnt have the lurcher with me thou never mind next time i will .

hi it depends where you are setting the snare the fox caught in the picture was on a fence, the actual run went under the bottom of the fence so i set it about 4-5 inches off the floor and about a 8inch loop hope this helps
