Hw97 Home Tuning Work. Sub 12 Fpe

Recommended Posts

Hi folks.

This is some bits and pieces I have done lately to my 97s.

The .177 black 97kt is awaiting a V-Glide from V-Mach which I can't wait to get hold of.

First of was to get a good balance on the stock of the KT.

I completely over done it though and had a scoped gun of just over a stone LOL :icon_redface:

Bloody accurate with no recoil but just not on for hunting so I scooped a lot of it out to drop the set up to just over 11 lb which sits nicely and shoots really nice now.

I'm now waiting for one of these babies to come from V-Mach for the.177 97KT which already has a tuned trigger and will be heading for my local air rifle club once I get some practise in with it.

Now it was the wooden stocked .22 97Ks turn for some work.

I tuned the trigger and added buttons to the cocking cylinder and piston to achieve a real nice snug smooth fit with no rattles or play.

Took a bit of time and effort but was worth it in the end as the gun has no muzzle flip and hardly any recoil now.

A joy to shoot and will get better after a couple of tins through it, a pigeon and bunny slayer.

Stepped holes in the cyilinder to accept the 3 and 5 mm stepped buttons that I made.

The 4 cylinder buttons before they were sanded down, there is another 3 at the front which keeps everything snug and smooth.

Next 4 at the front of the piston (sorry forgot to take pics of the piston) just behind the piston seal which combined with the 4 in the cylinder that guide the rear of the piston which are the 4 in the previous pics on the inside of the cylinder.

No play on the piston now and everything is running on Delrin.

The .22 is finished and I doubt Ill need to open it up again for a long time.

Some serious bunny bashing coming up.

Thanks for looking

Happy hunting

Oh Sh!t mate I'm really sorry to hear that, I spoke to him missis about a week and a half ago when he thought he had the flu to begin with, I hope he makes a good recovery.

Many thanks for letting me know Davy and also many thanks for the compliment.

If you hear of any updates on how he is I'd be mighty grateful if you could let me know as he is such a nice bloke and I don't want to bother them at this difficult time.

Thanks pal.
