slipper 116
hi all, i,m having a bit of a problem with my lurchers retrieving, when he catches a rabbit he will only bring it back half way then drop it, he has just started doing it which is strange, spent hours with him and the tennis ball covered in rabbit fur which he brings back every time, any ideas? slipper 116
yep just lately he is catching rabbits along side hedges or in cover then he will start bringing it back dead, then drop it 20 yards in front of me, start sniffing grass etc, really frustrating and no never used treats Quote Link to post
Hot Meat 3,109
to me mate it sounds as tho your dog is bored an feels it no longer feels need to please you. i know its hard but getting frustrated could make it worse, id cut the hunting out an try rebonding with the dog go back to basics and try him on lamp. iv only ever known 1 adult stop retreiving an nothing solved that. im sure yours will be okay tho Quote Link to post
