Guest norseman
anyone on here recommend a ferret harness and lead?(don't worry im not taking them for walks) I cant really ferret proof my garden as theres a wood at the end of it. and they aren't outside much as im currently building a run, so they are in a small hutch for the time being. (going stir crazy) seen one on amazon but it stated that it could not be tethered as the ferts can chew through it. so anyone on here point me to the right ones Quote Link to post
onthehunt 40
Yeah normally lead and harness sets made for kittens will do or for larger ferrets use one made for cats. Ones made for ferrets are available on amazon uk below. I have lots just dont use a small dog harness lol http://www.amazon.co.uk/Boredom-Breaker-Options-Pastels-Harness/dp/B002A4XO7A/ref=sr_1_1?s=pet-supplies&ie=UTF8&qid=1375824785&sr=1-1&keywords=boredom+breaker+harness Quote Link to post

GreyRake 108
I just take mine out into an empty field, open the cat carrier and have a smoke, they dont go far haha. Quote Link to post
onthehunt 40
Mine are generally very well behaved and come when they´re called-they know their names! Quote Link to post
joe14 98
The vest harnesses are shit they will probs slip out of them. H style ones are best. I dont know how people walk them cos mine go where they want lol Quote Link to post
onthehunt 40
I have bought some from http://ferretcouture.co.uk/ and they´re good and strong. mine dont have a chance to slip out. a harness and lead set costing around 8 pounds should do the job. cheap ones are shite. Quote Link to post
GreyRake 108
Yeah ferrets go where they want to. Cant beat the old leather H shapes. Tried other cheap ones - they don't alter small enough, even for my hob, break or the ferret gets out of it. Plus tying them up would just result in a big tangled mess i would imagine? onthehunt 40
All my ferret harnesess are H shaped. Tried other harnesses from pet shops that seemed as if they were designed by cretins. Quote Link to post

Rake aboot 4,936
I use the H shaped ones And I do take them for a walk sometimes,, and the grandkids have them out around the garden as well. A woman once drove up the kerb trying to see what I was walking down the street,, shit herself ! lol 1 Quote Link to post
