alan81 110
hi im looking for a 28" accu choke 2 3/4" and 3" cartridge barrel for a Mossberg 9200 has anyone on here got 1 or know anyone that has 1. I don't want to change the gun because iv never shot better with any other shotgun. iv been looking all evening for 1 on the internet but I can only find them in America and buy the time it would arrive here it would cost more than the gun is worth. any help greatly appreciated. a barrel for a Mossberg 5500 will also fit. dicehorn 38
Almost 100% certain that you will have zero chance of getting the US to export one to you. Think you will find in the long run that your best bet is to buy another or at least trade in your existing shotgun - if that is possible. Quote Link to post

Alsone 789
Have you tried approaching a Mossberg dealer for spares? Surely they can buy one in at trade and then retail it to you. Quote Link to post

I think I could be pissing in the wind they stopped making this model 12 years ago and stopped making the 5500 before that. ill try find 1 for another while, here's hoping. Quote Link to post
Alsone 789
Sportsman gun centre have an entire gun for sale in Dorset for £350. Maybe you could get that and keep yours for spares? http://www.gunstar.co.uk/Shotgun/Mossberg-9200-gun-for-sale-gs142101.aspx Quote Link to post

Alsone 789
Ah ok I take it the rules are different again in Ireland. I think only thing I can suggest then is selling yours and buying either that one 2nd hand or a new Mossberg. Looks like you're pretty much out of options this side of a barrel import as the chances of finding someone selling only a barrel are very slim and then you need to check its in proof. (BTW I was under the impression they were dated (not looked at marks in a long time) but looking around the web it seems that proof marks only indicate the day they were proofed not a duration so it looks as if it a calliper job to check thickness and visual checks for damage. Again the rouble with 2nd hand barrel only is you don't know what you're getting until too late. You could get another barrel and then find out its out of proof when you measure it. alan81 110
I know I think im probably going to have to change the gun. I was looking at the Mossberg 930 and its almost the very same so maybe its not all bad. I wouldn't have to do anything only for a lad shot the top of the barrel while out wood quest shooting. it was a total accident we were in the same hide and should have been more carful.
