GreyRake 108
Anyone know of a good book for identifying footprints, hair etc for brittish wildlife. Something to help me identify what's using certain holes etc Had a questionable hole on a permission in a hedgerow the farmer wanted me clear out. Looked to me like a route for something to get under and past the hedge. But the earth was kicked a good meter back out the hole and the hole itself was quite big. Footprints looked like a fox or badger, I couldn't be sure, maybe just the farmers terrier. A small book I could take with me would be useful. Quote Link to post

Ideation 8,217
Sounds like Charlie. . . . if it was scrapped back, rather than mounded? Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Maybe the farmers terrier digging after rabbits, who knows? Quote Link to post
GreyRake 108
Scrapped back yeah. The farmer didn't know what may be using it. Said he's having trouble with foxes though. Certainly lots of signs of rabbit by it too and loads of smaller holes around it up and down the hedge, but I didn't want to give it a go just incase. Quote Link to post
