Great day at show today, just one or two things would like to point out that myself and few others disagreed with.

Firstly, there was an attempt from the lurcher steward to merge the under 23 rough & smooth together! As he did not think there was enough dogs for the two classes. This would have been a pointless exercise as not only are you taking a dog out of the final straight away but also it would be unfair to judge both dog types against each other when there was a clear program layout for both dog types. Which in my opinion is just laziness on the stewards part. Also brings me to my second point...

There were bull crosses entered into the terrier cross class when there also a clear program layout for bull cross breed and a separate terrier cross class. This separation is usually implemented so the two types are judged against each other until later, more universal classes (e.g. fox, lamping & final etc). This in a sense takes another dog out of the final and in turn creates a less variety in the final.

If this was planned to be the case then why even bother having both classes in the show. The bull crosses that got beaten in the bull class and then entered the terrier class clearly have no chance of winning the final, for them to win a terrier cross call is a very hollow victory.

Other than that, everything was very professionally organised and ran very smoothly. Well done to all winners and participants.

If that's your thinking process, then why not just put every dog type in every class! Separate classes are programmed for a reason!

aye too appease crying fannys like you, whats wrong with over 23", under 23" and whippets. i cant see any other reason for more classes.

A Tribute to the late John Shaw who passed away  last Thursday 6th November 25

      I Am Free
Do not grieve for me now my  friends and family, I am free
I am following the path God Laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day
To Love, to live, to hunt, to show my treasured Whippets, or play.
I found a peace at close of day.
Be not burdened with the times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Do not lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your hearts my friends and share with me
      God wanted me now,
      He set me free.
John, we will love you forever and you will be sadly missed by your loving family and all your Country Sporting Fraternity and in the show ring.
May the Angels above give you the best seat in Heaven and may your gentle soul rest in peace.
      For Country Sports Fraternity
