Hi Everyone

I'm new to the site, Seems really well run (creep creep to admin) I have just purchased two air rifles sub 12ftlb for my son and I (BSA R10 MK2 & BSA Ultra SE) Both have been sent to Mr Bowkett for fettling (very nice man). I have just purchased the new Yukon night sight amongst other things so i'm ready to go. I live in the middle of sunny Dorset with Rabbits a plenty (all skinned cooked and eaten same day) I have decimated the local grey squirrel population to nothing (i hate grey squirrels). I have a fox problem (he has now killed 12 of my chickens and turns out the rubbish at every opportunity) and i need advice. I sit in my top window and watch him turn out the rubbish every night around 02:00, he is 11 metres away approx. (laser range finder), the question is if i get a head shot is my BSA R10 powerful enough to kill him from that range? Your advice would be greatly appreciated as much as I hate foxes for eating my chickens I abhor shooting anything and it not dying immediately.

Regards

Hi buddy and welcome,as for your fox problem the law states no minimum calibre for fox but sub 12 ft is a tad low and I don't believe from my experiance it could provide a clean kill and even Charlie deserves that !!!!

Hi Again

Thanks for the welcome and the advice regarding Charlie. I have invested in a stalag luft 13 chicken coop from flytesofancy and paid for the optional remote door and railway sleeper base but this cheeky sod takes them around dusk if I'm not home whilst they wander freely outside. I will have to get my FAC certificate sorted out by the sounds of the comments from the enlightened. Thanks once again it is very much appreciated. Is the HLF the same guy on YouTube?

Regards

Mike
