trenchfoot 4,243
With the THL meet just around the corner I thought it was about time to get some much needed practice in with the new Spectre. Having spent an hour working out the mil dots at ranges up to 55 yards, I was some what sun burnt and the tin of Air arms diablo's was getting sparse. So I packed away the target cards and picked up my kit and was about to head indoors, when something caught my eye. A crow had settled on the fence at the far side of the pig pen. I quietly Potters round to the gate, using the cover of the conifers to hide my approach. Scanning it with the Leica's it was at 58 yards, just beyond what I had been practicing at. However between the crow and I was a six foot high deer fence ( the price of keeping lurchers I'm afraid!). A quick scan through the scope had me thinking, the deer fence was at 30 yards, my zero range, but the three mil dots hold over just managed to align through the holes in the stock net, IF I managed to take an elevated rest on the top of the gate post! A quick check of safety off and backdrop and a lumpy .22 looped it's way into the back of the crows noggin. Grinning like a Cheshire cat 1 Quote Link to post
