jackg 7
Finally caught five in the larsen trap on Sunday, there had been four locally. After I had tried different locations for the trap, the one which worked was directly under a huge Pear tree where they had been congregating. Since I caught these, there have been four to five around the trap, but none caught. The bait is cat food in a small container on the top of the larsen and some more cat food inside on yoghurt lids. It is hot and this may have an effect, but I am surprised that I have not caught some of those which had been loitering with intent. I guess the next step is to move the larsen around and see what effect this has. Any suggestions. Edited July 8, 2013 by jackg Quote Link to post

gonetoearth 5,144
Nest in a black thorn by me. Was letting them hatch then shoot them as they fleged but sat there the other day. Jay comes flying in with his mate. Dives in and all hell breaks loose. They chase maggies off and throw all chicks out the nest !!!!! Never seen it before. And never had me camera. Never took one just. Lashed them out. Some racket then ensued as the maggie kept trying to scare them off but rocky hard case jays Won the day. Edited July 9, 2013 by gonetoearth Quote Link to post
