Ireland Launch Of Shanes Castle Game Fair And Flavour Fine Food Festival Press Breakfast Thursday 27Th June 13

Shane's Castle is a ruined Castle near Randalstown in Co Antrim, Northern Ireland. The castle is on the north-east shores of Lough Neagh, and covers some

2,600 acres along its magnificent homeland shores . This was the picturesque setting for the Press breakfast to Celebrate and Launch the 52nd Irish Game Fair and Flavour Fine Food Festival at this renowned Castle. The theme for this years reception was the Rabbit-Pet, Pest, Sporting Quarry and Fine Food.

 

As the guests arrived, Award winning Chef Emmett Mc Court cooked some Fine Rabbit dishes with fine Armagh cider on his open hearth, What a treat, so tasty and so well presented. You are a star Emmett, and may you go on to win many more awards with your gourmet food.

 

The Mayor of Antrim was in attendance, as was many people from all walks of life, the Canine community and many other country sports people, along with Photographers and Press men. Bluebell was there , clicking away recording every moment for our family album.

 

This years reception was tinged with a little sadness, as there was one very important member of the Gamefair Family missing from the top table. Yes it was our good friend and Game Fair colleague Mr Philip Lawton. Philip passed away some weeks ago, and will be sadly missed . Albertj Tetterington requested a minutes silence in Philips memory, which was observed by everyone with heartfelt reference. RIP Philip. I have no doubt you are one of Gods angels around the Gamefair throne to day.

After speeches and presentations was taken care off, a very tasty buffet was served, along with some liquid beverages. A big congratulations to the people who received awards on the day. Well done and well deserved winners.

 

And finally, A very enjoyable day was had by all at the Launch of the biggest ever Shanes Castle Game Fair and Flavour Fine Food Festival . Many thanks to Irene and Albert Titterington and Co Directors for a most enjoyable and memorable day. Now off to bed early, to be bright and breezy for the Game Fair to morrow.

Please God, be kind to us all and keep the rain away for the weekend. Good luck to everyone taking part in the Master Mc Grath and Racing tomorrow, and showing on Sunday at the dog show.
