smithie 2,444
One of my hare gate nets I made is 18 ft long by 6ft deep which is 24 meshes deep it's not rigged up right in the photo I only put it this way for the photo. This one has sliders on each end. It's very much like a extra large poke net. do you think sliders an a hare net are benefical? i have been thinking about this on and off today since i have seen the pictures. like most i have had sliders on purse nets but i have not had them on any other net . the reason i ask is because with the line up on the pegs and the slider sat between the peg and end pin it looks like the slider could restrict the closing of the net because maybe it wont close fast due the the hole centres on the sliders.. then maybe as the top line drops of the pins it makes no differance.. im not critisising or picking holes in the way you do things as clearly it works for you but i got to ask as its been spinning around my head for a we while now.. also i have a pair of sliders that are 6 inch hole centres you can have if you want to try a heavier slider.. I like the way you think about things, it's not that you look at things in a negative way, you just give an honest appraisal with potential pit-falls. If you can't do that you will never get anywhere. TC 1 Quote Link to post

Thanks for the offer might take you up on them sliders. It's good of you to ask, as in my first pic of my gate net, I said it not right. What I will do for you is take some more pic of it set right Quote Link to post
