Stink Pits And Bait Stations ???????

hi all

had some ket disappear this week all in same night in and around 600 to 800 yrds ,ive read about different types of set ups ,i decided to set a area up with 4 posts and stock netting with 1 entry on each side like a few said works ok its situated 70 m from our high seat and at the side of our wood and cover crop so tracks already made by quad have made nice runs towards it ,when do i snare the area ??? do i bait up for a week or so 1st ???? also 120m from the seat ive sunk a frame with 2" mesh over the top so the cuprit cannot run off with the bait ,its only 3" deep so they can nibble away whilst we can get a shot at it ,has anyone tried tis type of station or have i done it wrong

ideas please as our poults are coming in 3 weeks

iv never needed to bait snares but put them on well used runs quad tracks etc youll catch before long i was told that baiting to snare can cause them to approach them sometimes from a different angle due to bait been laid so rendering the snare useless but thats my take on it all the best b

Never heard of a stink pit with basically a lid......id be very surprised if a fox would go in that? Why would it run away with the bait...once it trys to enter it should be caught? Take the lid of and snare the hole in....put a snare on 4 sides of it if you like....the more the merrier...

the 2nd idea was to get a shot at the culprit if its legal quarry ,i just wanted somewhere were they can get an easy meal but without stealing it and running off ,if this is a poor idea how deep shall i dig the hole so i can get a shot off

get a fence stake put in and put a wire through it a if you can get a canada goose or rabbit leave it in a cloth sack to get really rotten but keep flies out the snare the bag to top of stake but put in a likely spot and have a call and wait this has worked for me a couple of times atb pal

we ve seen nothing about mate untill the kets gone last week ive been lamping quite a bit with a keeper and seen nothing

theres a few holes been dragged out lately but look piggy , so thats why i wanted something to attract them to see if its red or black n white

ket what we call bits of food ie bodies bones etc ,if theres ket outside a fox hole we mean left overs ,old kill, bones etc just (rubbish) what theyve eaten

so our ket was old carcasses of hares and rabbits but could be out what they eat ,its probably a northern name ,as when we were kids our parents said all you ve eaten is ket today meaning rubbish ie sweets, candys etc etc
