Paterdaleterry 1
Hi all im new to the forums so please be kind! Right im looking to get back in to ferreting, used to work them when i was a kid (long time ago),so starting from scratch. So advice on almost anything would be greatly received. Im looking at keeping 2. Is anyone here in the Sussex area selling kits? Also what should i be looking at providing them with when building a hutch/run ? regards Terry. Quote Link to post
Bunny Boiler 177
Take whatever you can spare to give them for space, then add a bit more. They're lactose intolerant, so avoid plain ol' cows milk. Keep at least 2 (you've worked this out), they're social animals. This means they will socialise with you too, so handle them alot remember, not just when you work them! Just a few pointers Atb, BB 1 Quote Link to post
Country Joe 1,411
And I like to feed Rabbit in Winter months, and soon when there are Flies about, I feed complete. and don't feed cat food. there's a few completes now, especially for Ferrets. Quote Link to post
GreyRake 108
For the housing they will need a smaller enclosed area to sleep in and a larger space open for fresh air to excersie/eat/drink and poop in. Bigger the better! Think of a classic rabbit hutch but bigger. Perhaps with multiple floors and/or with a run attached. For food like the guys have said, ferret kibble and raw meat. There's lots of kibble makes. Can find them local at pet shops, country stores or order online. I feed them kibble (available at all times) rabbits from ferreting ( gutted and skinned because I keep them indoors, don't like carcases dragged everywhere) cheap mince, chicken thighs... Anything raw really.... If I'm cooking I'll throw a bit of this and that in the bowl for them. Quote Link to post
