Fieldsports 155
I have just been through this dilemma myself. Please do not shoot me down for this BUT check the insurance company that your home contents are insured with ( You may well already have it )I have just renewed contents insurance using the money supermarket site and got a great price from the AA £50.57 per yearThis led me to phone them and ask in depth about the public liability side of the policy insurance that would cover me whilst using my air rifle outside where I had permission.I am insured for unto 2m liability, I even asked things like if I spooked stock after a shot and they crashed through a fence and after going away to ask and read the policy wording themselves came back and said "yes you are" This is only in force when you are using a air rifle for recreational use and not on a paid basis.I have the policy here myself now and it sounds OK to me.Not saying that some landowners will maybe want to see a well known insurance like BASC or NGO but hey insurance is insurance is it not.Personal choice as to who you go with for us air gunners insurance from an independent broker or organisation seems to span from £20 to £46But like said you might already have it with your home insurance. Thanks Steve Quote Link to post

Fieldsports 155
Just read this on NGO website NGO Insurance The NGO's £40 Membership Subscription includes public liability insurance for up to £10 million whilst taking part in any listed gamekeeping or shooting activity for leisure purposes. It gives you peace of mind that you are insured, if not already covered by another insurance (eg household) that you hold. We find that this certainty is all that most of our members require but if you do want more (eg cover for your dogs or for shooting abroad), our brokers, Lycetts, will be pleased to quote attractive NGO members' rates.Notice the bit that I have posted BOLD and underlined above....Makes me think they will use this as an out ! if you need to use it as you already have insurance. Here is where I got it from http://www.nationalgamekeepers.org.uk/ngo-insuranceSo even these realise that you are covered or can be through household insurance. This bit here from the NGO and seems to apply to most insurance we have for our sport / unpaid service. "If I am injured or my property is damaged will I be covered? No. Personal injury and damage to personal property is not covered. The insurance provides Public Liability cover only - in other words if you were to injure somebody else or damage someone else's property."I was wondering if some independent specialised insurance offered more than what I have right now so I looked at the above question. Same applies to all or most insurances we buy but this is worded the same in my household insurance, it all sounds the same when I read it Just a thought to look into ...It might save a bob or two seeing if you have cover already.Hope this helps a little.
