mad al 146
A neighbour of ours, into her eighties, worked in the local bank until she retired, asked me today, "how's that new pup of yours then?, what breed is it?". When I told her, she paused and thought for a while, "Knew it see" she replied, "but for the ban , I'd have some work for you two, damn fox crosses this field every night at quarter to ten, some odd folk taking photos of it last night, so I told them it wasn't a camera they needed!!!" Whatever did she mean?...................Al

mad al 146
Too right fellas, I found it so refreshing to have a "no bollox" conversation with her. Someone so unassuming, who knew exactly what she was talking about. Came from a "sporting" family, she told me , took me back centuries , to when I was a lad...........Al

ferret15 0
i meet a old lady walking her lab in the woods once when i had all four of my dogs with me she commented on how fit they were and said i bet they give the rabbits the run around. i said they used to before the ban, just to cover my ass. her reply was its amazing how many accidents happen in the country side isn't it. we chatted for ages and now i give her the odd rabbit which she makes the most amazing stew with (i must get that recipe) the old country folk are the best they say it as they see it, so you always know where you stand
Guest baldie
I always remember a days hunting at holmfirth, when it was early season, and we were just doing mornings really. We had just about finished, on the edge of the village, when they put one off, and it went straight over the main road, and through the gardens of a housing estate. The huntsman and myself were running hell for leather after them, and doors were opening, abuse was flying [f*****g comer in townies] and i swear i saw a flying teapot at some point, when they crossed another road, and ended up, in this old lady,s garden. Out she came, and i thought , bugger, some more stick here.....she piped up, i say Huntsman, i believe its under the shed, make sure you get it. It wasnt, it had passed through, but the old lass was up for it. Nowt as funny as folk.
