Blackbriar 8,569
Is anyone else sick and tired of hearing about this shining example of humanity? World leaders send best wishes for a speedy recovery, his home nation is asked to pray for him and we are told that the world is watching and waiting to see if the "great man" can recover from illness yet again. Children are taken to visit the old man, as if the Messiah himself has returned. The new Pope is said to be "worried". Has everyone forgotten that Mandela is a convicted terrorist? The ANC, which he helped to start, was responsible for many atrocities, including the infamous Church Street bombing , and is generally held to have tortured and murdered many opponents, enemies and infiltrators alike.Violence and intimidation were the stock in trade of this organisation - one of their favourite methods was the "necklace" - a car tyre soaked in petrol, hung around the victim's neck and set alight !!! He was a self-proclaimed supporter of "violent revolution", for crying out loud !! I am not questioning the rights and wrongs of apartheid here. I know the white Government also committed it's fair share of unacceptable acts. But how does such a man, with a less than edifying past come to be held up as an example of everything that is good in humanity ??? What next? Abu Qatada for London Mayor???? !
