Westy76 546
Ok most will be looking at this thinking I've cooked me ferts but no!!! I had a shoulder to use up and a bottle of fursty ferret from crimbo(I don't drink ale) so had a lash up in the slow cooker and it was the dogs pink bits so I thought I'd sling on here. Bone out a roe shoulder and cube it,add to slow cooker (unsealed) with half a pack of frozen stew veg pour over the bottle of fursty ferret add a pint of beef stock and season then cook for 24 hrs. Thicken with corn flour re season and consider herby dumplings. Ladle into bowls get stuck in,the meat should melt in the mouth. Enjoy!!!
LaraCroft 863
I did wonder - sounds good though. Do you use the beef stock for venison regularly ? I would worry it would be too strong against a game flavour. I tend to use chicken stock but happy to try something new.
Westy76 546
2xcubes to a pint works really well as slow cooked all the flavours come out and I don't think it's to strong but saying that you could use the shoulder bone and make a game stock from scratch??
