Davidh123 3
So some of you know ive recently aquired my hw 95 went out on the permission, and my rifle didnt seem so smooth to cock as it has been (definate twang goin on)so i got home sorted out my furs and then decided to strip it down and clean it, relube etc and to my suprise theres no tophat in there :S better yet the person who fitted the spring before i bought it didnt finish the spring off to well the last coils havnt been squashed together and roughly filedso...head scratchinghow did it feel so smooth without the tophat and a dodge of a spring finish??so yh im thinking of ordering both a new spring and a tophat (UNLESS SOMEBODY WOULD LIKE TO DONATE EITHER TO ME and gain a friend for life aha)or should it be fine the way it is? Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
my brand new 95k was twangy as hell. i opened her up smoothed piston with steelwool and re lubed her and now shes fine. makes a dull 'phut' sound. before it was more like 'cloooooonkkkk' stil got the standard weihrauch internals, couldnt fit my ptfe piston sleeve in there so i left it out, and theres no power washers or anything and deffo no tophat and shes doing just under 11 ftlbs and shes nice and smooth to cock and fire, not too much recoil. a tune would be benefical but shes good enough for me as she is so id rather save the £70+ good luck with yours mate. maybe a SFS or vmach tuning would do the trick for you. Skot Ruthless Teale 1,701
Too much lube is a bad thing. just needs a light coat. trial and error untill you get it right. i think just adding a top hat on its own should probably stop a lot of twang- try it and see SKoT Quote Link to post
