BRAN 0
Alright lads, Have a question - pupped a bitch. The pups are eight weeks old, bitch still has a bit of bloody discharge since, the thing about it is that my two young dogs(16th months) are very interested in the bitch as if she is in heat, constantly mounting? Bitch ates them! Older dog and father of pups has no interest. Anybody thoughts on this? Quote Link to post

Bitch ates them! Older dog and father of pups has no interest. Anybody thoughts on this? It's quite normal for the bitch to have a bloody discharge after having pups: one of mine discharged slightly for that long BUT this is not usual. Make sure the discharge doesn't smell vile: if it does then she has an infection and will need to go to the vet for antibiotics. If it's just a small amount of fresh looking pinky blood then it could be that one of the sites where a puppy was attached in the uterus hasn't healed up completely: make sure the bitch doesn't have hard exercise or running for at least another month so it can heal properly. If the discharge is green, black yucky or smelly then straight to the vet! Teenage male dogs are constantly in a state of arousal (bit like young blokes LOL), and a bitch that has pups will smell very interesting though of course she's not on heat. Just keep the little buggers away from her as its not fair on her to be fending them off all the time. Quote Link to post
