zek 0
Thanks for that - I think that's the one I tentatively identified last week around the coast. The flower is enclosed in a large green 'leaf' just before it opens. Zek.
Guest Ditch_Shitter
The flower is enclosed in a large green 'leaf' just before it opens. 'Tis indeed. Angelica sylvestris Been showing for about a month now. And right now it's blossoming left, right and centre. Certainly one of the more easily spotted and recognised Umbeliferae. I suspect my mate Jim will be digging one or two up and solemnly munching on their roots too I would, but I haven't the teeth for that sort of thing and anyway; I don't like carrots. zek 0
Tell me more - are they of the carrot family? Can they be safely eaten? Were they used by folks of past generations? Zek.
Eggy 0
Tell me more - are they of the carrot family? Can they be safely eaten? Were they used by folks of past generations? Zek. Apparently this species is not toxic however this one looks like the (deadly) highly poisonous water hemlock (Cowbane) and other poisonous members of the same family so you don't want to mix 'em up!
