Guest bullterrier Posted July 22, 2007 Report Share Posted July 22, 2007 ANYONE DO ANY FISHING IN THE RIVER MERSEY ITS FISHING WELL AT THE MOMENT[bASS FLOUNDER EELS AND THE ODD THORNBACK RAY ] IN THE WINTER THERE ARE PLENTY OF WHITING FLATTIES AND GOOD SIZE COD THERE ARE ALSO ALOT OF BOATS THAT COME UP FROM NORTH WALES DURING THE WINTER NOW DOING FISHING TRIPS SO JUST LIKE TO KNOW IF ANY OF USE FISH THE MERSEY THANKS JOHN Quote Link to post

paulmack06 0 Posted August 26, 2007 Report Share Posted August 26, 2007 i fish the river mersey in manchester and stockport, theres big chubb 12 pound salmon dace gudgeon minnows roach bream barbel its heaving with fish trout everything there a slamon run on the big weirs, its really good for fishing far down anyway Quote Link to post
imawindow 0 Posted January 25, 2008 Report Share Posted January 25, 2008 I regulary fish the mersey around the ferry inn pub area and have been pulling in all kinds of species. Also further along the river near sankey valley park ive heard rumours of big roach and chub being regulary caught. I'd love to know if others could back this claim up. Quote Link to post
