Philluk 181
There is a few things you can do, not feeding isn't the best way, it's a mixture of hard work and the right amount of the right food at the right time, there are some diet foods on the Market but if you feed 20% of it in the morning and 40% at night, so in reality you have cut the food by 40 %. Dependant on what you do with the dog excersise wise double it, you should be doing at least an hour a day in open fields, a 20 min walk on lead is not enough for these thoroughbreds. As the evenings draw out 2 hours a day in more of what a fit spaniels get as a minimum, yes I'm sure most do more some do less. Make sure there are no further feeds snacks or tit bits. As you do more excersise and the weight drops you can up the intake a small amount. Quote Link to post
