THE STIFFMEISTER 17,923
Good to see some talking sense on here pp , it's always been a cross that appeals to me perhaps I'm biased as the single greatest all round lurcher I ve ever seen was a dog from a union between these two first crosses, he was literally a killer, show him summat on the beam and it was dead, he'd find stuff on his own in the day and just pull it over no dramas, he'd work with terriers, ferrets and the gun. Heck he was even a b*****d with anyone approaching his owners vehicle , what a dog, all they strengths of a good saluki grey with the power and height of the deerhound coupled with that regal stature gorgeous nature , fantastic dog, shame that there's not many about now as with the modern saluki blood on the ground it would surely be to the good of a decent deerhound line Quote Link to post

buster gonads 862
I had one he was very slow to mature hard to train I just couldn't seem to get throu to him very puppyish took him out on the lamp at a year old he picked up the first few then he run the next one missed it and kept going and I never seem him again I had one 30 years ago before we could get hold of good saluki blood, bought him at 6 months, he,d been bred and kept on a greyhound track, no socializing, ran him on a hare around 12/14 month old, he lost the hare but kept running over the horizen, never seen it again, f***ing nutter, though TBH he never had the best start in life, put me off sal blood for life, buster.
