Halfinch 51
Thanks fry, That's what these forums should be about, sharing our experiences and trying to help others. More spring equals more poke as far as the Superdomes are concerned , but overall, as i found out, less is sometimes more. I did think by bringing the Superdomes down to a legal level, the other pellets would drop by the same amount. Not so! as the figures prove, Definatly more to getting power, and consistent power at that, than whacking in a bloody strong spring. The funny thing is, when i had finished, the spring had almost no preload, but the gun shoots really smooth and consistant, and there is obviously still plenty of power. Go figure eh? Barrywhite, The strangest thing I've found doing this project is that the AA Field, the heaviest pellet at 16g actually gained power after cutting the spring, whereas the Superdomes went down, they were still the fastest, but taking weight into account were actually less Ftlb. I don't know the science behind it, i just know the Pleasing results. Quote Link to post
barrywhite 282
I think the super domes are tighter in your barrel now before the aa were tight in your barrel due to expansion of the soft lead.you should try falcon accuracy .They are all jsb pellets they make similar pellets with the soft lead jumbo exact, express ,and rs they look the same ish but have different weights .jumbo exact = air arms field=fx=gaystate select are the same or very close .may not be 100 percent with the names but thats the idea ......falcon accuracy =jsb rs ....mosquito express =jsb express or very close, good enough for an experiment with.
