Nik_B 3,791
Thats mental?! Getting into a scrap 5 years ago doesn't put kids at risk from you. I thought the whole point of the CRB was to protect the vulnerable from being targeted by specific criminals like protecting kids from peados or OAPs from thieves etc I saw an article about this the other day http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/politics/9827982/The-lives-blighted-by-CRB-checks.html

arcticgun 4,548
Its gotta be summat rellevant to the work your doing to stop you getting a job, the disclosures not always that accurate either, Ive had em done on me in my line of work since they came into force, sometimes they pick up everything other yeras they don't, I asked about this as my employer noticed it on my three year update, they said its down too old records being looked at , as some stuff ain't been transferred to computer yet. like someone esle said come clean at the interview, as its usually kid work these checks are carried out to cover ya in , its down to saying that you had bad expiriences in the past and putting a positve twist on how you changed yaself, usually turns them looks of horror when ya tell em ya sins into looks of 'admiration' I know a lot of lads need checks now if they working on sites like say a school or leisure centrew and some employers back heel lads cos they got minor unrelated convictions, but ya can ask em to look into situations as in 9 cases out of ten you not getting near a kid or talking to em,and they usually supervised if they vunerable in these type of settings so no harm in most types of reformed crims working on said sites, its a big buisness now is record checking, nice little earner for the plods and govement, IM all for em except when they stop lads gettign work in situatiuons like mentioned above
Guest long-tail
well iv filled the relevant forms out and handed them back to my employer with relevant proof of id etc, like i say got nothing to hide really but feck me how far some these companys go into your personel life makes you wonder at times. i used to work for the old man who owned the company before he handed it over to his son, the only review/appraisal you needed off him was knowing you still had a job the next day if you f****d up he would give you the mandatory kick in the bollox and it was forgotten, now days its HR this HR that what with that and health and safety ..............feck not even going down that route just to say anything to make a job more fecking difficult cheers
