Ratting In Public Areas

The hunting of rats is exempt if it takes place on land—

 

(a)which belongs to the hunter, or

 

(which he has been given permission to use for the purpose by the occupier or, in the case of unoccupied land, by a person to whom it belongs.

 

The hunting of rabbits is exempt if it takes place on land—

(a)which belongs to the hunter, or

 

(which he has been given permission to use for the purpose by the occupier or, in the case of unoccupied land, by a person to whom it belongs.

 

 

Straight from the legislation

That's that plan f****d then, just isn't worth the risk. Next dog will be a pup and i can do things properly

So technically you will be poaching for rats.....mmm cant see too many people being that bothered,but when i was pruning some trees once some lunatic said they could hear the tree's screaming in pain....morale is you only need to have a complaint made to plod by a member of the public and as we know they only act on criminal law so they may be obliged to investigate

fcuk me they could hear tree screaming in pain. think i woulda alerted the nearest mental hospital to the whereabouts of an escapee :shok:

October 2007: A gang of seven men: Daniel Dooley, Darren Fairclough, Michael Smith, John Weeder and Paul Hoffman from Liverpool, Adam McIlvenna from Halewood and Kevin Walton from Knowsley were found guilty of hunting rats with dogs. Each was fined £400 and ordered to pay £65 court costs at St. Helen's Magistrates Court.
