Hw80 Scope Mounts

Hello, I'm having a bit of trouble with getting decent scope mounts for my Weihrauch HW80. The first set were the wrong kind but the second lot I got just came off after 20-30 shots. They were proper Hawke sports mounts 9-11mm dovetail but had only one screw to tighten onto the rail and no anti-recoil pin. Does anyone have any suggestions for good mounts preferably for not more than £15.

single peace and an arrester block.. i think the arester block with the screw that goes down from the top is about the best, but..if you dont let the presure off every now and then it'll eventualy pop back at you and fall off at some point.

I use these always. I never use anything else on all my rifles and I don't have a single problem with them on my FAC HW80. And she delivers a bit more recoil than sub-12 ft/lb rifles do.

 

2-piece Sportsmatch mounts give infinitely better adjustment and positioning of the scope over the cylinder for your eye than single-piece; and stay put once you nip them up.

Not sure what you mean ghillies. Beefing up to 50 to 55 Feet per second? Mine is tuned to 21.3 Ft/lbs and that's enough for me!

The Sportsmatch also have an arrestor pin in them, this screws down into the hole in the action, made for arrestor pins!

 

 

Look at the mount on the left carefully see the hole in the mount, above the left hand clamp bolt? Use an allen key in that to lower the arrestor pin! They are £18 from Deben, but you should be able to pick them up around the £15 mark if you look hard enough!
