Local idiom, language, dialect should always be allowed in chat as it defines who and what we are, If I can work out some-ones district or cultural origins by their style of writing and use of local descriptive words they use, thats a learning curve for me and many others :clapper:

Fair comment, Tom. I was never disputing that. As said above; My own insistance on the use of " ye " .....

However, I'd like to show the house a perfectly random example of what I am having to put up with in Chat, on a nightly basis. And please remember; I'm in there most of every night. I have to follow every open conversation ~ as any experianced Chat Room Moddie will perfectly understand ~ and that takes concentration. What does any person of average educational level think it must take to sit 'listening to', let alone deciphering This sort of drivel? What " Local idiom, language, dialect " does this represent? That of the Remidial Class?

"

A: wats been hapnin thn?

B: fuk all

A: nae decent convo nyt thn folks?

B: ieeeee lol

A: lol

A: nae1 bn oot wa dugs or tht nut

B: hawkthe day got a crow and a hare

A: nice 1 [bANNED TEXT]

A: wat kind?

"

:blink:That is what I wouldn't mind IanB's - the site owners - ruling on. As we can all see, only A's use of the M followed by the figure 8 in place of typing " mate " actually falls foul of the current rules operative here ~ and thus in Chat.

Ian; Your own, Solomonic judgement, please? :good:

Well ditch if I see posts like that I'll just delete them, its plain lazy on their part.......who wants to read that on a forum, its bad enough in a chat room, although the chat room is harder to moderate..
