It gives you much more control and won't spook as much at close distance. For fox lamping it gives the benefit of spotting at distance and turning down as it comes in. mattydski 560 Posted December 28, 2012 Report Share Posted December 28, 2012 I use a 140 for everything, lurchering (rabbits), lamping with the CF for rabbits and foxes.. I dont have variable power, although occasionally I feel a little underpowered, especially with the rifles.. I've had this one 5-6 year, when it fails terminally, I will get a 170..
