low plains drifter 11,279 Posted April 28, 2013 Report Share Posted April 28, 2013 Cheers for that its just that She's 14 mounts old once she spots the rabbit on the lamp she's spot on but my only problem is getting her up that beam for the sitters All you need to do is walk her up the beam on the slip until you're right up on them, she'll soon learn,maybe because she is 100% sighthound blood she's just looking for the moving targets,never owned one myself,but I seen a few run in the 90's,good dogs to watch,not the best for rabbits,but they'll catch their fair share,my mate's dog Axle was started on the hares at 10 months old,before any other quarry,and never looked back,I hope they make a comeback in the future,just need to get the right deerhound blood,if there is any about these days atb with the young bitch Quote Link to post
