Want to start ratting

Recommended Posts

What a load of bollocks... i work in contaminated water and sewage on a daily basis, do you not think they would develop a jab for people if they had one for dogs.... i think you might be thinking of parvovirus or distemper. Dont get me wrong i would urge people to have all pups jabbed, and when rearing a litter i keep them all until after the 1st jab, but jabs offer no protection what so ever to lepto.... i personally know of jabbed and unjabbed pups falling foul of it.

No wonder hunting is in the state that it is

live trapping rats will serve you and your dog no purpose at all,you want your dog too hunt the rats you expect it to kill.never heard so much shit'e,next people will be telling you to put your dog in

Bear in mind mate that rats fear anything new to them so it will be a week or more before your trap catches...... once the trap is sited dont move it, i find the best bait is a tray of brown bread so

judging by you posts digger you know everything, yes you maybe right there are no vaccinations in the uk against lepto [weil's disease] but there is vaccinations in other country's china ,cuba ect,so there are vaccinations for people, but animal vaccinations are available in this country, yes there are a few forms of lepto, but the animal vaccination dose cover leptospirosis, weil's disease, rat catchers yellows, black jaundice call it what you want.the injection given by vets dose cover this strain and only has a 12 month life span, hence the need for yearly boosters.but since you know more than medical science there' will be no need for you to do so,were as on the other hand i for one will take the advice from my vets [who have given this advice to me for over 30 years]and listen to medical evidence, and get my dogs jabbed each year..your also right that rats do carry a host of other diseases, but if i can eradicate at least one of these i'll continue to do so.Granted you work in open drains and weil's disease is at its most potent in water but i,m .sure you take proper precautions before doing you work,as i do when go hunting rats, but you have your opinion on this subject and i have mine.no need to get clever by telling me to nob of whats all that about like, there are more opinions than just yours this is a site for open debate, and the question was about dog vaccinations not people.

Its the same disease you numpty... and china is a bit far for me to go, iv got work in the morning! Dont you think your friends at medical science would develop a human jab if they have a canine one... thats my point. Its time your vet started vaccinating against bullshit coz your full of the stuff, get well soon!

Wayne, Keith j is correct, I also get my dogs vaccinated every year, against leprospisrous it will save your dog from suffering and a lot of heartache for you, a small price to pay really in the long run. Wayne ring your vets for advice let us know what he or she says. Keith you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink

I have and puppy jabs offer no protection. Like i say all my pups are jabbed up, and they build up a resistance through contact with rats and places rats frequent...... after all an innoculation is just exposure to the disease, but you being a clever c**t you will know that. Truth is,dogs jabbed or not sometimes fall foul, but iv said all this so pull your nob out of keiths arse and f**k off to the vets you hypoconndriac

Why do you think a pup has vaccinations ? Because its immune system is very low. Yes it builds as it gets older. When working with rats it is at risk as you know, but by getting a yearly jab it will keep such diseases at bay and that can only be a good thing don't you think
