Roy Williamson 15
Just fixed a pc for neighbour for free and was talking about my interest (obsession) with shooting. He mentioned he had an airpistol in the loft, had it from new and only fired about 20 pellets. Off he popped to get it, he produced a nice little carry bag with the pistol, sight mount, telescopic sight (1.5x15) 2 tins of pellets and instructions/guarantee. The pistol is as new in .22 and the sight has never been on the pistol. He said as I did him a favour he would sell it for £50. Sitting here with a big cheesy grin on my face, I have wanted a hurricane/tempest for a while after regretting selling a couple a few years back ( make that many years ) Anyone know if you can date these ? All I want now is ..... webley tempest webley premier weblyy senior bsa scorpion hw35e feinwerkbau sport mk1 original 50t01.... and erm that will do for a few weeks ATB Roy BTW the pellets where very strange, not seen them before Tiger Gold High penetration and Champion Devastators. Both look like flat heads with a point in the middle and made by L.J. Cammell (Merseyside) ltd. Any info on them ? Quote Link to post
davyt63 1,845
hi Roy the serial number should be behind the pistol grips, just undo the screws and remove them, and it should be at the top of the action. there also shouls be a stamp on the front of the cylinder? nice bargain! PS, i have a BSA scorpion with scope .177 Quote Link to post
Roy Williamson 15
Just had a little shoot with the webley, so nice to hold and shoot. Pellets that came with it where nasty ( L.J Cammell pellets, Tiger Gold and Champion Devastators ) had some H&N FTT and these shot great, here is a little 5 shot group at 10 good paces shot standing 1 handed, so prob about 10 yds. sorry about the quality, used the cam built into laptop Going to have to start that spring pistol league in my club Quote Link to post

Grayling 56
The pellets you have were made near where I live on the Wirral Roy, at Tarran Way industrial estate, Moreton by a firm (sadly now gone) called L.J. Cammell better known as their trading name of Champion products. You may remember there Champion Ballistic pellet from the mid 's (the pellet with the heart of steel). They had a huge range of pellets out at one point. Some good, some not so good. They are becoming quite collectable these days, so it may be worth keeping the ones that came with your pistol for the future. They made some very innovative pellets at one time. I was lucky enough while on pest control duties for the Mersey Docks and Harbour board to have an account set up for me there for controlling pest species in the local docks on each side of the Mersey. So could literally try any of their many different pellets that caught my eye. Although for the short range Rat and Feral Pigeon shooting in the grain warehouses that were our bread and butter the Champion Ballistic were hard to beat. Nice one re the cheap but mint condition loft find mate, proves such finds do still exist. Quote Link to post
