One of the first wild things I ever had as a pet was a Common Toad and I think it kind of stuck with me through life. I've since kept more types of toad than ye could shake a stick at. Bred the things and all sorts. I even had Natterjacks Ironic thing is, I grew up thinking I'd got it right (from a book I probably just misread) that we have Green Toads {Bufo viridis} in Eire. Turns out we don't. We Only have Natterjacks! {B. calamita ?}. Never seen one here yet. Frogs aplenty but never a toad. I'd like a Bufo bufo or two on my ground .....
