Phantom 631
This scope is fixed Parallax I think. You need to point the scope at a plain background and focus the crosshair using the eyebell dioptre correction ring (closest your eye). Once it is pin sharp the croshair will remain sharp throughout the mag range as will the sight picture (target) Your eyes may focus on the target at first, but once its perfectly set for your eye, the croshair should look like it is printed onto the background Tony Quote Link to post
jamie82 6
thanks for that, il try it tomorrow, it was dark & i was trying to focus on a small target but one or the other was blarey, cheers mate. Quote Link to post
andyfr1968 772
If you've got any plain white walls to use as a background, just do as Tony's said. It'll work fine that way. Quote Link to post
Roy Williamson 15
if it is non ao/paralax adjustable you should still be able to adjust the objective lens by slightly unscrewing it, I had the same problem on my hawke 3-9x40, it was very hard to get it moving at first. Some have an outer locking ring and then you can adjust the lens and then screw the locking roing back. It is worth it as my target was out of focus at 20m at anything beyond 5 zoom Quote Link to post
jamie82 6
so if i jus unscrew the end, do i move jus the lens then? and is there a certain amount to move it, i dont want make it go worse by puttin it the wrong way? also are the scopes filled with nitrogen, would i have to pay if i took it to gun shop, cheers. Roy Williamson 15
On my hawke I just unscrewed the objective end of the scope, only about 1cm max (just a fraction of a full turn) and i was in focus at 20m, friend has a nikko I think, he loosened the end and there was a ring inside that he just moved to get in focus then tightened the end back up. So each scope is different. Yes they are usually nitrogen filled so you dont want to ruin the scope. But for me the scope was useless as it was and there where a few people at the club that had done it before and showed me how to do it. Quote Link to post
jamie82 6
dont want to sound thick roy but if i just unsrew the end a fraction can you move the ring inside or will i need some kind of tool, need to ask because i dont want to just unscrew it & then have to buy another scope, thanks for your help mate Quote Link to post
