Froudy 40
Yeah I know what you mean mate I've got a BSA R10 sub 12fb but I have a slot on my fac for a higher power one, been told it will cost more to change my standard one so I would be better off selling it and getting one what is already done. Would keep it if I could but like you say needs must do its guna have to go Atb Froudy Quote Link to post

Shot a 1 hole 10shot group at 30 yards today and it measured 13mm and that wasnt even trying to put a good group together, i think if it dosnt go in a couple of weeks ill keep it and have it put onto my ticket Only worry is if it was turned up to 30ftlbs and it sent the grouping all over i would be devastated ATB Adam Quote Link to post
Froudy 40
The same as the R10 mate shoots spot on, the gun shop said if I wanted to up the power to 30 ftlb I would need a 18.5 " barrel, and that I could only up it to about 26 ftlb with a 16.5" barrel because it would effect the accuracy, but don't know how true that is mate. Acuspell 329
Depends on the porting. This is why Rapids are so popular with FAC chaps. With a 16.5" barrel a .20 cal will happily do 30ft-lbs and be spot on for accuracy - 8mm groups at 65 yards. It isn't just the barrel, it is the prechamber volume, the transfer port size (and shape!) the valve shape,. There is more to it than just the barrel. This is another reason why Rapids are so popular for this, changing the transfer port size, shape, the valve stem length and prechamber size is very easy. I know of at least one Rapid in .22 that is doing +ft-lbs, but it is going supersonic to do it, so accuracy is in the lap of the gods. However, tweeked down to 1080 fps it is bang on the mark with sub 10mm groups at 75 yards, that is 69ft-lbs, but it needs an enlarged prechamber, transfer port plus other clever tuning and a 21" barrel to do it. The noise is horrendous without a moderator on it! Quote Link to post
