terryd 8,994
Tried a wood this morning that does not have a great deal of cover. I had four from there last year. I decided too deploy my secret weapon the wifes 6 year old pet cocker. Been getting him used too ferrets and sheep over the summer. Tried a few holes but nothing at home. I did see a couple of rabbits break cover. The dog caught there scent and started zig zagging about little stump going but he couldn't seem too join the dots. I would have thought it an ideal spot with small clumps of broken cover but it was not too be. II did hope too bolt one infront of him as he is a quick learner. But it was a fun few hours regardless Edited September 30, 2012 by terryd Quote Link to post
bryson 562
are you expecting the dog to catch a bolter or are you just using it for marking Quote Link to post
terryd 8,994
marking and putting them too ground would be good but I suspect I am asking too much. But no harm in trying and he enjoys the outing as do I Quote Link to post
bryson 562
thats not really asking to much mate they have very good noses on them so it could prove to be handy tool to take with you the more times the dog goes the better it will get Quote Link to post
