Clarkey92 10
My pup has always been well behaved, now she's 10 months old and has had a few rabbits sometimes she likes to wonder and doesn't listen when I'm out with her and the other dogs, Eventually she will come but not straight away, Ill give her a treat If she listens straight away but doesnt always work, anyone have this problem and anyone have any advice on sorting it? Clarkey92 10
It's not the other dogs they all come back on demand she wonders on her own. Quote Link to post
AirgunGuy 362
It's not the other dogs they all come back on demand she wonders on her own. She's still young and daft mate. Give her time. Reward her when she comes on command...don't if she doesn't. It won't be long before she gets it Forgot to add...if it's a very recent thing she could be coming into her 1st season...if she hasn't already had it...and may wander. My Weimaraner bitch f...ks off at every opportunity when in season and doesn't listen to a thing i say. Edited September 16, 2012 by AirgunGuy Quote Link to post

AirgunGuy 362
Best advice is don't push her too hard at this young stage. She's a pup and often peolpe can expect far too much of a young dog. Just nice and easy with her and she'll come round. Worst thing you can do is lose the rag. Sh'ell just get confused and is likely to do the opposite of what you want ;-) Quote Link to post
derbylad1 293
it comes down to making yourself more interesting than the thing/dog/object that she wants to stay with or goto. go back to basics on the training, but find that "thing" she loves, be it praise, food, a toy and use it on her good recall when you do your one on one training. lurche 48
that sounds promising as i have the same problem with my 10 and half mth bull x she knows what i expect but doesnt always come back straight away ,mainly cause shes found some turd to shove her nose in although this is better than when she was addicted to horse shit and would grab a piece and tear arse round for 10 mins that was stressfull. in the house she will retrieve every time usually to hand and outside she hit and miss some time she will bring it back other times she will torment me.it is hard when other people say ,my dogs 3 mth old and 100% but there all different i guess Quote Link to post

I have found running in the opposite direction or hiding helps, make them panic a bit that your going off without them. Quote Link to post
