An article detailing the benefits of .177 ...

Recommended Posts

I use both, but I hunt in .22 why? because my gun just happened to be .22 and I like the extra size and skill required to put it where it needs to go (awaiting incomming flack). Seriously though a .177 may have a flatter faster trajectory hense more tollerant to use error however the .22 is also more forgiving of user error because it produces much more damage.

But all in all it's down to what you think and how you do it

My old rapid was .20 rob, but it only liked the heavier pellets like crossman premier and logun penetrators and to be honest, it was nowhere near as flat flying as I expected,in fact it was pretty much the same as lightweight .22 pellets, around the same as falcon accuracy are in the pro sport.Although, if it had liked the lightweight pelletsI'm sure it would have been a different story. The problem with .20, in my opinion, is that the lack of available pellets can limit your options of your rifle is pellet fussy.

But thats only what I found, other folk wil be able to tell you of much greater success, andyfr1968 shoots a .20 hw90 so he'll have an informed opinion I should think.
